Barbecue Tofu | Dinner
Serve this barbecue tofu with a side of baked beans and coleslaw, or
use it as the filling for a delicious sandwich served on a hoagie, or even simply on a bed of rice.
4 cups ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup of water
1/2 cup vegan Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup prepared mustard
2 tablespoons barbecue seasoning
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 (16-ounce) package extra-firm tofu, pressed and quartered
1. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the tofu. Pour the
mixture into the slow cooker and add the tofu, making sure that it is fully
covered with sauce.
2. Set the slow cooker to high and cook for 1–2 hours, flipping the tofu at
the halfway point.
