Delicious brownies that help you sleep? Count me in! But there's more than that! CBD, also known by its full name, cannabidiol, has been shown to help those struggling to get to sleep or get restful sleep, to wake up feeling refreshed and well rested. It's also been shown to ease both anxiety and depression (though not get rid of them completely) and it's effects as a pain killer are well researched at this point. It's been known to help ease joint pain, back ache, and is currently being researched as a way to help with pains of cancer, as well as the side effects of cancer treatment. It's also currently being studied for ways it could also help with things such as Alzheimer's disease, Chron's disease, Epilepsy, PTSD and muscle spasms.
There's many ways to take CBD, such as vaping, smoking, patches, body lotions and even bath bombs and gummy bears, but one of the best ways to get your dose of CBD is by cooking with it. Let's have a look at how to make CBD Brownies!
The ingredients you'll be needing are:
240g ground almonds
50g cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
50g coconut oil, melted and cooled to room temperature
180g coconut sugar
80ml of vegetable oil
120ml plant based milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
200g dark chocolate chips
Here's how to make them!
Start by preheating your oven to around 150 degrees C.
Take a Brownie tray and lay some parchment paper on it, be sure it's greased!
In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients. These are the Ground Almonds, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and coconut sugar.
In a second bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients - these are all the other ingredients except the chocolate chips!
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Add in ¾ of the chocolate chips and stir to combine.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared brownie tray, and use a spatula to even out the top. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top of the brownie and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature. Use the parchment paper to lift the cooled brownies out of the pan, then cut into 9 and serve!
If you're new to CBD Brownies and you're not sure what strength CBD you should try, a happy mediums always a good bet! However, if you're a little lighter than the average body, go for a lower strength. Likewise, if you're a little heavier than average, then a bigger dose may be more effective.
