Chocolate Orange Cake | Dessert

Chocolate and orange is one of the best combinations I can think of because of the orange mellows down the flavour of the chocolate, while the chocolate enhances the flavour of the orange.


1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup cocoa powder 3/4 cup soy yoghurt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup fresh orange juice 1 tablespoon orange zest 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 pinch of salt


1. In a large bowl, combine the flour with the sugar, cornstarch, baking soda and cocoa powder. 2. Stir in the soy yoghurt, cinnamon, orange juice, vanilla extract, salt and orange zest. Beat well with a hand mixer for 2 minutes then pour the batter into a greased round cake pan. 3. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 30-40 minutes. 4. To serve, glaze with chocolate, melted with a few tablespoons of butter or heavy cream.
